There is still a little bit left of this year. We will soon be able to assess 2011 more closely. In any case, there is a lot of good in it. We will return to a more detailed assessment later. Now let's think about the upcoming year 2012.
First of all, I refuse to gloom the situation. Sometimes it seems that we Finns have the prevailing idea that things are going really badly now, but fortunately they will get even worse in the future. It is a fact that the economic situation in Europe is confusing. It is quite possible that it will not become clear very quickly. Or is “confusion” a permanent state? We can hope and believe that the situation will at least not get worse. Another thing is the intensification of competition. There is fierce competition in our industry, just like in almost all other industries. Competition is part of a market economy. There is no better system available. Sometimes it feels like the rules of the game are bad or there are no rules. Competition in itself is in the interest of all of us. Above all, for our customers. Besides, competition is nice. It is part of life.

Both in our company and in other companies, we have thought about and are thinking about goals for 2012. Goals must be worth pursuing. People must feel that achieving goals is possible. When environmental factors are hazy, setting goals is difficult. One might think: what do we do with them when there are no prospects? What do we do with goals? Whatever comes, comes. I feel that in our case at least, there must be something to aim for. The prospects are hazy, but even in hazy weather, the journey continues. We are setting goals and aiming to strengthen our market position in 2012. This requires a lot from us. This gives us a lot.

The future is difficult to predict. Fortunately. It would be a terrible situation if people knew that exactly. Is it the hardest thing for an individual and perhaps a company to be in the present? Do we remember the past or are we in the future? I think people should have goals and visions, as I have already said. Dwelling too much on the past does not help anything. Constantly living in the future or the past is not good. I know this. I often live in the future. It would be great if I could and we could live the present more and stronger. Next year I will strive for my goals by living more in the present. That is a personal goal worth pursuing for me. It demands a lot from me. It gives me a lot.

Wishing you a very good end of the year,
