Finland is a country you feel in your bones. A free fall from thirty degrees in summer to thirty degrees below zero in winter doesn’t go unnoticed by anyone. Nor can the collapse of the endless summer sun into a mere brief glimmer during the winter months have failed to leave its mark on our character. Our ancestors didn’t settle in the farthest corner of the North because of the pleasant conditions, but in spite of their harshness.
