The year 2007 was a year of strong growth for us and for almost the entire world. I myself, especially in the early stages of this recession, thought and said that “better times” would soon come again. It’s as if we just hold on for a little while and we’ll be back to the way things were. Did we go back to the way things were after the previous recession in the early 1990s? We didn’t, the change was strong even then. On the other hand, we returned to strong growth quite quickly then. According to all experts, this will not happen this time.
If you want to get back to growth in companies, you have to do it yourself. Economic growth will help us a little bit at some point. The world is different now than it was in 2007 and there is no going back. Structures have changed and will change more, there is no other option but to change along with it if you want to stay competitive.

As mentioned in previous articles, we have started a very strong development effort. We have set ourselves very ambitious goals. We want to return to growth quickly. Do we have to grow and develop? Let's just wait, better times will come. Let's just count here. Let's see how long the money lasts. If we did this, when better times came, they probably wouldn't come to us. I think the only option is development and growth.

In football terms. The defense must hold, otherwise matches will not be won. The midfield must be structured, otherwise matches will not be won. The attack must shoot at goal, otherwise matches will not be won. Above all, the team must create scoring opportunities that will lead to goals, otherwise matches will not be won.

In coaching, we are currently focused on scoring goals. The conditions on the field, or rather on the field, are not the best possible. They are what they are. It is more comfortable to coach and aim to be able to cope now and in the future. We want to be an even stronger team in the future. This is what we aim for and this is how we act.

Training and competing are nice. Sometimes we are in discomfort zones. That's how we are in between in life in general. Life is about everyday life, but also about celebrations. Successes should be “aired” hard, both in everyday life and in celebrations. This is especially difficult for us Finns. We have a tradition of “crying for long joy”, etc. As CEO, I have a special responsibility for “airing”. Do we all have a special responsibility for “airing” as individuals?

New ideas in November.

Let's just move on and "ventilate" occasionally.

PS. Thanks for the feedback. You can still "vent" or even "feedback" there.
