The new year means all kinds of activities. New strategies and action plans must be drawn up. Visions and missions updated. Production and marketing measures must be planned and the year’s new products examined in detail. At least a thousand and one Excel sheets are waiting to be filled, and of course everyone’s favourite, the financial statements, must not be forgotten. Various parties want answers to market surveys and, as the cherry on top, there are the surprise factors. But one thing rises above all other activities, namely The Activity.
The Activity focuses on an excellent vibe and fun, silly chatter. The Activity has a prestigious committee that uses its unlimited influence to raise the happiness curve of the entire staff.
It’s important to plan a lot and far ahead. It would be great if there was something nice to look forward to every month. This year we started with a brainstorming session. We need both small and big things, and variety, so that there’s something for everyone. Since Dimex is living the year of interaction, we decided to ask the whole gang for their wishes. The end result is colourful – just like the crew itself. We’ll get to go skiing, crafting, hiking, doing yoga and partying, among other things.
Fortunately, in between all this normal activity we get to immerse ourselves in The Activity! I’ve never issued a challenge in my life, but I think I’ll do it now. I challenge all Dimex blog readers to design their own annual clock for The Activity. Then just mark it in your calendar and off you go.
