With what style did we head into 2014?

Greetings, With what kind of attitude did we head into 2014? At the end of last year we assessed – or guessed at – the year 2014. What will it bring? We boldly estimated that 2014 would be a good year. As is usually the case in a family business, we kept our feet firmly on the ground even though our heads were reaching for the clouds. In the current global situation it’s hard to see very far ahead. You just have to keep moving forward with courage. Focus on what you’re doing instead of worrying about the future. Do the things you can influence. And there are plenty of those for all of us. How did the first four months of 2014 go? You could say the first four months have been positive. At times, especially the situation in Ukraine has caused some anxiety. So far the market situation has remained more stable than it has sometimes seemed. I believe the work we’re doing is still heading in the right direction and moving us forward. We know and understand that our customers don’t depend on us, but we depend entirely on them. When the customer perspective disappears over the horizon, things start to get out of hand. Let’s try to keep a firm grip on things. How will the next eight months of 2014 go? Even writing this makes me a bit nervous. It would be easier to give this assessment at the end of December. By investing in good customer service, we can look at the rest of the year with a positive outlook. Maintaining and developing that service is a key element in our customer retention and growth. A positive view of the rest of the year guides us to operate at the right pace. We can focus on what matters – our own work. We’ll continue along the route we’ve chosen. Sometimes we’ll stray into the woods along the way. That’s okay. The important thing is to know how to navigate back onto the route again. So my assessment of the rest of the year is that it will be good. There, I’ve said it. Wishing you a very pleasant spring, Jukka Krogerus Managing Director +358 40 300 4522 jukka.krogerus@dimex.fi
