When I jump out from around the corner and shout "MISSION?",
you spring up from your chair to attention and shout at the top of your lungs: “OUR CORE PURPOSE: TO CREATE CUSTOMER-CENTRIC, SUPERIOR SOLUTIONS IN A MODERN AND INNOVATIVE WAY, COST-EFFICIENTLY, DELIVERING QUALITY AND ADDED VALUE, LOVING THOSE CLOSE TO US AND REMEMBERING TO ALSO OFFER ADDITIONAL SERVICE CONCEPTS.” I let a brief moment pass before I nod approvingly. You can get back to work. You know it by heart, because it’s laminated on the café wall.
You sit there lost in thought, the pale light of the computer screen on your face. I sneak up behind you with the customer. I whisper something to them, clear my throat gently and then roar: “VISION!”
“THE FUTURE WE STRIVE FOR: TO BE THE MARKET LEADER IN PROVIDING SUPERIOR SOLUTIONS AND VALUE‑ADDED SERVICE CONCEPTS”
Excellent.
Nope. Our strategy – meaning what has made us succeed and what we stick to. What will make us succeed in the future and what we’re aiming for. What I can do to make this happen, and why I would even do so.
The theme for 2013 is enthusiasm. So, we, the owners, decided on January 1st that now all four of us are enthusiastic. Really. It's up to you. I could just as easily decide that I'm definitely not enthusiastic, but I and the people around me would have a much bleaker time. When you're enthusiastic, others may well roll their eyes and call you a fake enthusiast, but hey, everyone still has a better time. This is a gift you can give to your coworkers and yourself. Humans are holistic creatures, if we're stuck in one sector of life, the brakes are easier to apply in others. And I don't mean that we move forward with a robotic grin on our faces, forcing ourselves into a false emotional state, but that we think about what there is here that I could be enthusiastic about. It can usually be found with a little digging. That's what I would ask others to do in 2013. Let's remember that we have ups and downs, better moods, and days when I tap my toe on the threshold three times before my morning coffee, but the whole thing is what counts!
Our mission is to be the most active, most professional and most customer‑oriented player in the industry. We do proactive sales work, offer high‑quality service, are a reliable partner and have the best people working for us. Our vision is to be No. 1: to grow faster than the market, to be the number one brand and the customers’ first choice. Behind this are our familiar values: responsibility, cooperation and sales‑driven thinking.
The strategy now aims for 2015, in the annual goal we aim for and measure the first steps. In the team goals we enable the realization of the annual goal and on a personal level we strive for team professionalism and the realization of the goals through our own daily actions.
I intend to let my enthusiasm show whenever it’s even bubbling under the surface. I hope and believe it will have a ripple effect all the way to implementing the strategy.
