In English this is an easier thing than in Finnish. In Finnish this issue can also be viewed from many angles. There are joys and sorrows in life. It was and is sad that we had to do things last spring that affected and still affect people's employment. This felt and feels really bad. I have tried to convince myself that the global economic recession is not my fault alone.
It is pleasing that the sales deficit has decreased since the beginning of the year. Expenses and income are in balance. The order book, outlook and mood towards the end of the year have improved. More positive things have started to appear.
Another good thing is that we have started training for the entire staff under the leadership of Trainers House, which Tuire talked about in the previous article. It will help us and our customers in the near future. To quote the training material: now we go with our heads in the clouds and our feet firmly on the ground.
It is very important to remind yourself of the positives. I believe that we all have them, even if in some situations they are difficult to see. Perhaps the worst enemy of our people is bitterness and cynicism. They are not things that move us forward. We have to fight against them. We cannot give them power. There are always positives.
In a couple of weeks I will tell you about the atmosphere in Estonia. In June 2007 I was asked for the first time: what does this recession mean? Now they also have information about it.
Wishing you a happy autumn,
Jukka Krogerus
