- Replaces EN 471:2003 High‑visibility warning clothing for professional use
- Garments with the old certificate may still be manufactured, sold and used. New certificates will be applied for products planned for the future. The requirements therefore do not apply to old products.
- Stricter requirements for fabric suppliers – the change affects them the most. For example, testing is done after washing (minimum 5 wash cycles). Our suppliers have also had their fabrics approved under the new certificate, so almost all old fabrics can be used in new garments as well.
- New pictogram
- Reflectors do not need to go over the straws at the top
- Because of the square requirements for reflectors on a vest, 70 mm reflectors must be used; a vest cannot be class 3
- Dimex clothing has previously been certified as a set, so that a class 2 jacket and class 1 trousers in the same outfit have a combined maximum of 3 classes. This is now also mentioned in the certificate. Remember that 1+2 is automatically 3.
- The transition period starts now in October, and there is no deadline for switching to the new one. The new certificate will probably start appearing on the market gradually next year.
- Dimex is not yet moving to the new certificate because we want to make the change in a controlled manner.
