Over the years, I have worked as a coach with several hundred different companies from very different industries. I have been on the front lines making various observations about how the growing challenges of working life and various changes are being implemented in companies. In my role, I have helped management to look at reality through the eyes of the employee and vice versa. The single biggest and most generalizable challenge is how to experience the changes and the related demands as positively as possible. The core of everything is the commitment of an individual person and thereby a larger group of employees to the company's promise and to redeem it. We have also tried to activate such an active, professional and customer-oriented lever of collective power at Dimex.
If the challenges of working life were to be somehow generalized and packaged into one sentence that unites both management and employees, it would probably be “how do we combine work joy and productivity in an ever-changing world?” With Dimex’s management and personnel, we have carefully considered how this challenge that unites us all relates to workwear? The conclusions are undeniable; Workwear has a very large and growing importance both for the well-being and commitment of employees and, from there, for work productivity. When an employee puts on their company uniform every day, just the right workwear is simply not enough to be in the best mood to deliver on the company’s promise. We have also sincerely shared the view that in many industries, a person is the company’s media, and a quite significant one at that, so there is no point in considering various factors and details related to appearance as mere trifles. Workwear must be incredibly good in the opinion of the wearer, and if it is worn in public, it must also be impressive!
At Dimex, the recipe for incredibly good workwear is packaged in the form of a 4T customer promise; Safety, functionality, style and satisfaction. At Dimex, we are well aware that the best workwear on the market is created when we dedicate ourselves to creating it with exceptional passion together with good and demanding customers. In our coaching collaboration, we have now focused particularly on how we can take a bigger and, in particular, more active role in the development of the entire workwear market. We believe that we have found excellent ways to make our customers' lives easier and richer, which we intend to implement with our "heads in the clouds, but our feet firmly on the ground".
With a twinkle in the corner of my eye and inspired by my coaching experiences, I could draw some labor market policy conclusions, that Dimex is the largest single domestic labor market actor that is so strongly on the side of the employee, but what's best, equally on the side of the employer. Excited to see what role these arguments will open up in the next round? Until now, I have been of the strong opinion that the best way to combine work joy and productivity is exceptionally good management, but this autumn I have realized that in this demanding sport there would be no harm in having incredibly good work clothes.
