The endurance of construction and humans will be put to the test in 2017. The guys from Biisonimafia are digging through mothballs to find the wildest building ideas and the most absurd idiocies, which will help us see how far this kind of collaboration can go. “Even Dimex will reach its limit before long. Let's just see,” says Biisonimafia's Kaitsu.
The Finnish workwear manufacturer has given the guys from Biisonimafia a long lead, and the result has been consistent. Last year's biggest success was Jorkki1. The super-controller of construction sites created by Biisonimafia, whose first sketch has already had over 900 thousand views on YouTube and Facebook. "I feel like we're still at a fairly early stage in this business. I'm looking forward to the point where I have to think about crossing the line," says Dimex's sales director Tuire Krogerus.
The exceptionally long collaboration in the Finnish YouTube world has been a special experience and journey for both parties. During the collaboration that began in 2015, Dimex has grown like a rocket, and so have Biisonimafia's YouTube channels. Biisonimafia's large channel will soon exceed the magical milestone of 200 thousand subscribers, and the smaller vlog channel will soon have 50 thousand subscribers. When the collaboration began, there were a total of 67 thousand subscribers.
"Dimex gave us the keys and credit, then we put ourselves in the game. And here we are. Today, Dimex is more than a partner to us. Dimex is part of the Bison Mafia and we are honored to wear the clothes of this Finnish family company," continues Janne Kaperi.
As the year turns, it's time to plan for the future. Having just returned from a European filming trip, Biisonimafia is full of ideas and the plans for Dimex are big. During 2017, the collaboration will expand beyond traditional TV to product collaboration, when the first garment designed by Dimex and Biisonimafia together, which has been hyped on social media, sees the light of day. "I'm pretty excited about it myself. It's not some traditional fan stuff, but a real and genuine jacket. Which is designed for a slightly more active commuter. It combines Dimex's knowledge of workwear and Biisonimafia's knowledge of hanging out. It can't be too much of a stretch," says Kaitsu, who was personally involved in the design.
"It's good to continue from here. In 1969, the Americans put a man on the Moon. Next, we'll aim for Mars with the Dimex rocket. Then we'll see where we land," says Janne Kaperi, laughing.
