Copyright and thanks, Minna Koivu. It must have been around 1997 or 1998 when I first came across a work/everyday/party outfit called Dimex. I say party because in our family, Dimex is worn in every situation. Northern Ostrobothnia is now known for the fact that all self-respecting young people and parents must have Dimex, some even wore them on their benches. One young lady once worried that these clothes were not available in a small enough size. Well, the designers must have had a different purpose in mind originally, they were hardly envisioned as fashion clothes for sweaty teenagers here. In our family, the father has been fashion-conscious in this regard since he was very young, and the same trend continues today. I think he has accumulated experience in using it for at least 15 years. Of course, before there was only work-use Dimexit, now there is a separate “holiday-use Dimexit”. That's how the world changes... The eldest child in the family is now continuing this tradition and is proud of it. I thought at the time that I should probably get some kind of passport to this Dimexlandia. Okay, I have to admit that even my mother has a couple of Dimex pairs in her wardrobe. In my defense, I'll say that they're so comfortable to wear. As I was reminiscing about the wonders of history, the color scale of workwear models from different years flashed past my eyes in a slideshow; at first there was only blue, then rebellious purple/gray appeared, and now yellow-black clothes are popping up. I'm very happy with the development. I wouldn't dare go to any party with the host if I were still wearing blue suspenders at my neighbor's wedding, for example. Black is nice for that purpose. And yellow is a nice eye-catcher in sunny weather. It's a tough guy. 20140809_125934
